リップル（Ripple）とは、Ripple Inc. によって開発が行われている分散型台帳技術を利用した即時グロス決済システム、 外国為替・送金ネットワークである。コンセンサス・レジャーとXRPと呼ばれるネイティブ通貨を用いるオープンソースのインターネット・プロトコルは、リップル・トランザクション・プロトコル（RTXP）またはリップル・プロトコルと呼ばれる。

概要[編集]

リップル（Ripple）の開発は、2004年にカナダのウェブ開発者である Ryan Fugger により開始された。[2] 後にビットコイン技術を応用して Arthur Britto、David Schwartz等によって開発されたコンセンサス・レジャーが統合された。プロジェクトの指揮権は Ryan Fugger から Ripple Inc.（旧OpenCoin Inc.）に譲渡され、リップル・トランザクション・プロトコル（RTXP）として開発が継続されている。 リップルはビットコインと同様に分散型台帳技術を利用するが、二重支払いの検知をプルーフ・オブ・ワーク・システムではなく、独自に開発されたコンセンサス・システムによって行う。これによりビットコインの致命的な弱点であるスケーラビリティや消費電力といった問題を克服し、ビットコインでは平均10分程度かかっていた決済をリップルでは数秒で[3]行うことができる。

また、World Wide Web Consortium によって標準化が進められているインターレジャー・プロトコルの開発が Ripple Inc. によって行われており、将来的にリップルに統合される予定である。インターレジャー・プロトコルは Ripple Inc. から発表され、リファレンス実装が2015年11月に同社から公開された。[4][5]

我々がXRPを分配する目的は、ネットワークに信頼、実用性、流動性を構築するような行動にインセンティブを与えることです。もし私たちがこれらの目標を念頭にXRPを分配したら、そのうち私たちが市場に注入する追加供給を相殺して上回るXRPの需要増が期待できると思っています。別の言い方をすると、他の通貨とXRPとの交換レートを安定化あるいは増価するような結果が期待できる分配戦略を実行するつもりだということです。

XRPはリップル・ネットワークのネイティブな通貨である。XRPはドルやユーロとは違い、リップル内にのみ存在する生来の電子的な資産である。1000億XRPがリップル・レジャー内にプログラムされており、リップル・プロトコルのルールでそれ以上は発行されることがない。XRPはリップル内で唯一の資産となる通貨である。リップル内の他の全ての通貨は残高として存在しており、これはゲートウェイの負債であることを意味する。この資産と負債の違いが、数学に基づいた通貨の一つの革命的な性質である。なぜならXRPは負債ではなく資産であるため、ユーザーは第三者のカウンターパーティーリスクを負うことを承諾することなく、USD残高を送金する代わりにXRPで価値の交換を行うことができる。[7]

ブリッジ通貨としてのXRP[編集]

XRPは、特定のタイミングで２通貨間の直接的な取引がない場合（例えば２つのマイナーな通貨ペアによる取引の際）に、ブリッジ通貨として機能する。ネットワーク内での両替において、XRPは他の通貨と自由に交換することができ、その市場価格はドル、ユーロ、円、ビットコインなどに対して変動する。他の通貨と異なるのは、XRPによる取引は銀行口座を必要とせず、サービス手数料もかからないという点である。取引先のリスクもなく、運用コストが増えることもない。[8] リップルの設計の焦点は、代替通貨としてのXRPに重点を置くことではなく、両替と分散型即時グロス決済である。Ripple Inc. は、2015年4月にオートブリッジと呼ばれる新しい機能をリップルに追加した。これにより、マーケットメーカーはマイナーな通貨ペアの取引を、より簡単に行うことが可能になった。この機能は更にネットワークに流動性とより良いFXレートをもたらすことを目標としている。[6]

スパム対策としてのXRP[編集]

リップル・ネットワークにアクセスするには、微小な額ながらもいくらかのXRPが必要となる。これらはトランザクションに対する手数料と永続性を維持するための担保として利用される。この設計の目的は、攻撃者をすばやく破産させ、ネットワークがスムーズに機能し続けるようにすることである。Rippleネットワークに対する攻撃はすぐに高価になるが、一般ユーザーにとっての費用は実質上「無料」のままであり続けるようになっている。[7]

XRPの最小単位と発行上限[編集]

XRPの最小単位は1 XRPの100万分の1（0.000001）で、この最小単位を"drop"と呼ぶ。つまり 1 XRP = 1,000,000 drops である。1000億というXRPの発行上限は人的要因により決定された。drops の64ビットの精度のうち1ビットをXRPフォーマットを表すフラグ、1ビットを符号、3ビットを未使用領域として合計5ビットがフラグとして割り当てられている。1000億XRPは100,000,000,000,000,000 dropsであり、これは64ビットから前述の5ビットを差し引いた59ビットの符号無し整数（unsigned integer）に収まる。[9]

  • 100,000,000,000,000,000 = 10^17 = 10^11 * 10^6
  • 576,460,752,303,423,488 = 2^59

ゲートウェイ[編集]

ゲートウェイは顧客から通貨の預金を引き受け、代わりにRippleネットワークの残高を発行するビジネスである。これは伝統的な銀行の役割にとても似ている。Rippleネットワーク上でXRP以外の通貨による残高を保有するにはゲートウェイに接続する必要があり、これを「トラストラインの確立」と呼ぶ。XRPには発行者が存在しないため、XRPの残高の場合はゲートウェイに接続する必要はない。[10]

IOU[編集]

IOUはゲートウェイが顧客から引き受けた預金に対して発行される借用証書である。（語源は英語のI owe you.[11]） ゲートウェイから顧客に発行されるIOUの残高は、基本的に顧客から引き受けた預金の残高に基づく。リップルのユーザー同士は、ゲートウェイから発行されたIOUで支払いを行うことができる。この場合に必要なのは、IOUを保持するために支払いを行うユーザーが互いに共通のゲートウェイをトラストすることだけで、直接お互いをトラストする必要はない。また、Gold Bullion Internationalが発行するXAUのように、IOUは通貨以外の資産の価値記録にも利用することができる。 [10]

アドレス[編集]

リップルの残高はアドレスに対応づけられて格納される。アドレスは公開鍵暗号ペア（公開鍵と秘密鍵）として生成され、公開鍵側をリップルアドレス、秘密鍵側をシークレットキーと呼ぶ。

リップルアドレス[編集]

リップルアドレスは‘r’から始まるアルファニューメリックストリング（文字数字の列）で、ウォレット（財布）を特定するための公開されたアドレスとして利用される。また、リップルアドレスを用いて取引履歴や残高の確認を行うことが可能である。

シークレットキー[編集]

シークレットキーは、リップルアドレスと同様にアルファニューメリックストリング（文字数字の列）である。シークレットキーはリップルアドレスと似ているが ‘r’ の代わりに’ｓ’から始まる。シークレットキーを保持している限り、いつでもアカウント内にある残高にアクセスすることができる。これはもし他の方法でアクセスが出来ない場合、バックアップ方法として重要なことである。他のアクセス方法がない場合（例えば、あなたの電話が二要素認証のテキストを受信できない時）、シークレットキーがないとロックアウトされて自分のアカウントを使用することができなくなる。シークレットキーは如何なる状況でも自分のアカウントにアクセスできる唯一の方法である。 [10]

パスファインディング[編集]

リップルのパスファインディング・アルゴリズムは、リップル・ネットワークを横断する２通貨間の最も安いパスを探索する。ここで言う『最も安い』が意味するのは、支払いの送金者にとって最小の BID/ASK コストを負うパスである。利用者が USD から EUR へ送金・支払いを行いたい場合、これは直接 USD から EUR へのワンホップのパスになるか、または、USD => CAD => XRP => EUR のようなマルチホップのパスになる。リップルはマルチホップパスを単一のトランザクションとして処理する。[7] パスファインディングは、利用者にとって最も安い交換コストを探し出すようにデザインされている。

オートブリッジ[編集]

オートブリッジは、流動性と生来のブリッジ通貨としてのXRPの利用促進を容易にするために、XRPを介して複数のオーダーブックの橋渡しを行う。例えば 1JPY=1XRP と 0.01USD=1XRP の注文が同時に出された場合、オートブリッジは２つのオーダーブックを合成し、1JPY=0.01USD の取引を可能にする。これによってリップルでは様々な通貨ペアの取引が可能になる。また、リップルは更にオファーオートブリッジという機能により、IOUを直接掛け合わせたオーダーブックとオートブリッジにより生成されたオーダーブックを合成して、一つのオーダーブックを生成する。[12]

リップリング[編集]

リップリングは、複数のゲートウェイをトラストして同じ単位のIOU（例えばUSD.snapswapとUSD.bitstamp）を保持している場合に、片方のIOUが他方のIOUに自動的に置き換わることを許可する機能である。リップリングをONにしたIOUは、同じ単位の他のIOUに自動的に交換される可能性がある。[10]

リップルコネクト[編集]

リップルコネクトは、金融機関の内部システムとリップル・コンセンサス・レジャー (RCL) を接続するための、リップル社のクロスカレンシー決済ソリューションのコンポーネントです。リップルコネクトを利用することで、銀行は国際決済を行うことが可能になります。さらにリップルコネクトは、決済が実行される前に KYC（Know Your Customer：顧客の本人確認情報）やその他のコンプライアンス情報、手数料、決済にかかる概算時間を交換する手段を銀行に提供します。[13]

リップルストリーム[編集]

リップルストリームは、リップル社のFX市場を構築するソリューションのコンポーネントであり、FIX のような業界標準ツールを利用するFXトレーディングデスクを実現し、リップル・コンセンサス・レジャー (RCL) 上でのFX市場の構築を容易にするためのオーダーブック管理システムです。リップルストリームは、クロスカレンシー決済を実現するために外国為替取引を提供する RCL 上で、売り/買い注文を実行するトレーディングデスクのためのインターフェースを提供します。リップルストリームは、銀行の FIX やウェブサービスAPIを利用した既存のトレーディングインターフェースを統合するためにデザインされています。また、銀行のトレーディング・クライアントの統合に.NETライブラリを利用することもできます。[14]

取引と売買[編集]

RippleTradeアカウント[編集]

リップルを購入・管理するにあたり、RippleTrade (RippleWallet) アカウントの開設が必要である。RippleTradeアカウントは、仮想通貨の銀行口座のようなものであり、仮想通貨の管理、売買、送金を行うことができる。RippleTradeアカウントは開設しただけでは利用できず、アクティベート（有効化）する必要がある。最低20XRPの残高があると自動的にアクティベートされるので、初回入金が必要である。これはボットやスパムによるリップルネットワークの負荷を軽減するためである[140]。

XRPの購入までの流れ[編集]

日本円で直接XRPを購入できるわけではない。下記の流れでXRPを購入することが可能。

  1. 現実世界のお金（日本円）をゲートウェイにて仮想世界のお金に交換する。ここで、ゲートウェイは直接リップル (XRP) に交換してくれるわけではなく、仮想通貨のなかで日本円に相当するJPYに交換する（1円=1JPY）。交換されたJPYは、ゲートウェイへ入金した人のRippleTradeアカウントに送金されるため、事前にRippleTradeアカウントを作成しておく必要がある。
  2. RippleTradeページ内にてJPYでXRPを購入する発注指示を出す。なお、RippleTradeページではXRPの売買に関する板情報が参照でき、株のインターネット取引と類似している。売買が成立すれば、XRPの購入が完了する。

この他にもXRPを取り扱う暗号通貨の取引所において各種暗号通貨と交換して入手できるし、また現金で販売する事業者もいる。

XRPの売却・出金までの流れ[編集]

基本的には購入の逆の手順となる。

  1. RippleTradeページ内にてXRPを売却してJPYを購入する発注指示を出す。なお、RippleTradeページではJPYの売買に関する板情報が参照でき、株のインターネット取引と類似している。売買が成立すれば、JPYの購入が完了する。なお、JPYといっても1つではなく、ゲートウェイ毎に異なるJPYが存在する。出金するゲートウェイのJPYを取得する必要がある。
  2. ゲートウェイにJPYを日本円へ換金・出金する依頼を行う。1JPY=1円で換金される。この手順はゲートウェイによって異なるので、利用するゲートウェイの出金マニュアルを参照のこと。
  3. ゲートウェイに登録してある銀行口座へ出金される。

この他にもXRPを取り扱う暗号通貨の取引所に置いて各種暗号通貨と交換できる。
